Patient Satisfaction
Following surgery at Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge (SSCBR), our patients are asked to tell us about their satisfaction with all aspects of their stay. Press Ganey Associates, located in South Bend, Indiana, conducts our patient satisfaction measurement program. Press Ganey is the healthcare community’s top measurement and improvement company. Press Ganey mails questionnaires to a randomly selected sample of patients, after discharge from the hospital.
SSCBR continues to be honored to be recognized for our outstanding achievements by putting the human experience at the heart of healthcare. Press Ganey recognizes health systems that go above and beyond, translating data, insight, and empathy into patterns and stories that fuel action for growth, showing those delivering exceptional human experiences.
Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge has been honored with the Guardian of Excellence Award in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 for Patient Satisfaction scores.
Additionally, SSCBR received the Pinnacle of Excellence Award in 2021 and 2023 for their Patient Experience achievements in both the Inpatient and the HCAHPS categories.
The Guardian of Excellence Award (formerly the Summit Award) honors organizations that have consistently reached the top (95th to 99th percentile) of their survey measures. This accolade represents SSCBR’s front-line team members and leadership, providing more human-centric care experiences by identifying what patients need most and pivoting quickly. Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge ranks in the top 5 percent in patient experience amongst other healthcare facilities nationwide.
The Pinnacle of Excellence Award highlights organizations raising the bar on performance and is awarded to only four organizations nationally in each category. This accolade represents our leadership’s drive year-over-year, with sustained performance improvement in its patient experience. It highlights our team members’ unwavering commitment to raising the bar in healthcare.
Both awards are focused on recognizing those organizations that show commitment to putting the human experience at the heart of healthcare. The results are based on randomly selected patient feedback regarding their overall rating, likelihood to recommend, and teamwork displayed.
