Environmental Services

  • Floor Tech (PRN)
    Evening Shift PRN Position. Clean floors in patient and non-patient areas according to established techniques and procedures. Perform a variety of duties requiring special skills and physical strength, to maintain the aseptic and aesthetic condition of the hospital/clinic. Perform all other related work assignments according to developed techniques and procedures.
  • Housekeeper 1 (PRN)
    Evening Shift PRN Position. Clean patient and non-patient areas according to established techniques and procedures. Perform a variety of housekeeping duties requiring special skills and physical strength, to maintain the aseptic and aesthetic condition of the hospital/clinic. Perform all other related work assignments according to developed techniques and procedures.

Nursing

  • Experienced OR RN (PRN) (Full Time)
    PRN positions available specifically in Spine & Ortho areas. The Registered Nurse will possess the ability to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care for the patient in surgery. The Registered Nurse will provide age-specific care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in surgery. Coordinates all aspects of nursing care with all disciplines of the surgical team to achieve defined patient outcomes. Provides safe environment for patients in surgery. The Registered Nurse must possess the skill to provide appropriate education to the patient and family regarding the surgical procedure. Displays excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, co-workers and physicians. Practices within the guidelines of Louisiana State Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act and AORN guidelines. Complies with the policy and procedures set forth by the Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge and all applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Inpatient Case Manager (20-24hr/wk) (Part Time)
    1. Performs Case Management duties according to SSCBR Policy and Procedures including discharge planning. 2. Maintains open communication and collaborative relationships between hospital departments, staff, and physicians to coordinate optimal patient care. 3. Works closely with the Admissions Department to assure patients are in the right Patient Type in CPSI. 4. Maintains a good rapport with the physicians in order to resolve patient status issues. 5. Prints the OR Schedule daily/weekly to ensure that all surgeries are scheduled in the correct patient type (IP or OP) and contacts Admissions and physicians as necessary. Sends email to appropriate departments daily or as requested regarding scheduling errors. 6. Supports activities and processes that optimize patient and family satisfaction. Involves the patient, significant other, family, and other healthcare personnel as appropriate. 7. Identifies and coordinates the need for further assistance by other disciplines. 8. Consults physicians for clarification of diagnoses when information in the medical records is ambiguous, unclear or conflicting. 9. Demonstrates ability to proficiently assess patients in every age group 10. Provides individualized education to patients and families; documents discharge education needs as appropriate 11. Initiates discharge plans and arranges referrals to post-acute providers when needed 12. Identifies issues with reimbursement, length of stay, or documentation to appropriate person; reports any issues with Inpatient Director 13. Completes Case Management CQI monthly report in a timely manner. 14. Reads outside resource material, as required, to stay abreast of case management changes. 15. Communicates to manager any scheduling issues as they arise. 16. Responds promptly to requests from Administration and other departments. 17. Assists Inpatient Director with other tasks related to the department within scope of practice.
  • Inpatient Unit RN (PRN)
    - PRN Days, nights, weekends as needed. 1. The Registered Nurse will possess the ability to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and accurately document nursing care for the medical-surgical patient including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. 2. The Registered Nurse will provide age-specific care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in a medical-surgical environment. 3. Coordinates all aspects of nursing care with appropriate disciplines. 4. The Registered Nurse must possess the skill to provide appropriate education to the patient/family regarding their individualized plan of care. 5. The Registered Nurse must be competent in fulfilling discharge planning and case management needs of the medical- surgical patient. 6. Provides a safe environment for patients and families. 7. The Registered Nurse participates in performance improvement activities. 8. Displays excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, co-workers and physicians.
  • OR Director (Full Time)
    Plan, organize, staff and direct a high-volume OR with multiple service lines. Design staff scheduling that meets the needs of patients as well as multiple physician service lines. Manage budget and develop OR programs and policy as well as staff development. Must keep current with management practices and current trends in service delivery. Develop and implement quality assurance programs and evaluate the effectiveness of such plans. Must be flexible with duty hours.
  • PACU RN - PRN (PRN)
    PRN position available. The Registered Nurse will posses the ability to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care for the post-operative surgery patient in the PACU. The Registered Nurse will provide age-specific care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the PACU environment. Coordinates all aspects of nursing care with all disciplines of the post-operative/procedural team to achieve defined patient outcomes. Provides safe environment for patients and family. The Registered Nurse must posses the skill to provide appropriate education to the patient’s family regarding their individualized plan of care. Displays excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, co-workers and physicians. Practices within the guidelines of Louisiana State Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act and ASPAN guidelines. Complies with the policy and procedures set forth by the Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge and all applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Surgical Technologist (Full Time)
    There are currently Full Time, Part Time and PRN openings with a work schedule ranging from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm and 6:30a to 7:00p. The scrub technologist is responsible for a portion of the perioperative care of the surgical patient by proficiently planning, implementing and evaluating the preparation of surgical cases and preparation of the surgical suite. The surgical technologist shall assist the surgeon during surgical procedures in a manner as to make the procedure safe, effective and smooth flowing while adhering to strict aseptic techniques. The surgical technologist is responsible for the preparation of surgical instruments and equipment as appropriate to the surgical procedure.
